What in the actual F is going on here?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Blown head gasket on a 5 year old car, so it’s time to throw it away.
Hold on, condition is ‘salvage’ so there’s got to be more going on....oh, the title is ‘missing’? Ok, so that’s like a $35 fee and some paperwork.
Is this guy a sucker or a trap? With a good motor, this is like a $10k car.
Update : Screw it, I’ve emailed the guy, we’ll see what happens. Hope I don’t get stabbed!

Probably stolen or abandoned. Would not buy.

Almost certainly stolen, IMO

If that is a Clubman S, then that motor is garbage. BMW admits there is a fatal issue with the cooling system/timing.
If it isn’t a scam, that would be a great base for a project car.

Odd, but doesn’t scream “scam” ... man I don’t know. Kinda looks like someone who can’t be bothered to actually deal with it. But they will have to get a title.

is there any aftermarket fix for the chain tensioners?

I’ll ask my coworker who used to have one until his engine grenaded due to that infamous flaw.

Small block Chevy swap? You know you want to.

There is indeed aftermarket support for the various issues with those engines. Both the S and non-S models had separate issues, with warping heads being specific to the non-S models.
Also the Honda B18 fits into the engine bay quite easily.
